Release of a 10th anniversary edition of "A Baloon called Moaning"

The Joy Formidable, is a three-piece Welsh alternative rock band, and has done numerous world tours, festival main stages and stadium shows. Their Welsh heritage has always been something that is extremely important to them and have announced the release of a special commemorative 10-year double album edition of their acclaimed debut release A Balloon Called Moaning. plus a newly recorded acoustic Welsh language version, Y Falwn Dram.

They've also announced the launch of a mini festival at Tramshed, in Cardiff, on Saturday 23 November 2019, Formidable Fest / Gwyl Aruthrol which will include a roster of Welsh language artists.

They've also released acoustic recordings of "Whirring"  in English and Welsh, a track that was named amongst Pitchfork's Top 100 Tracks of the Year, and described as "the song of the year" by Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl.

GYMANFA GANU - HYMN SINGING FESTIVAL - 2019

The 2019 Gymanfa Ganu will be at the Trinity Church, 72 St Georges Terrace, Perth on Sunday August 25th. This is an annual event held by the Welsh Free Church. 

This year, The Perth Male Voice Choir will be performing at the Gymanfa, which starts at 2.30pm.

There will be refreshments following the service. Entry is free but a collection will be taken and proceeds donated to help the homeless of Perth.

Christmas in July lunch

Everyone who attended had a wonderful time. Many of those attending would have noticed Karen running around taking photos. She has kindly made them available for viewing. Our next event is a "Christmas in July" lunch at The Duke Bar and Bistro, 2 Innesvale Way, Carramar,  at 12.00pm on Saturday 20th July 2019.

The cost is $25 per person (discounted from $40) for a two course meal, (mains and dessert), turkey and ham, seasonal vegetables, sausage stuffing, cranberry jus. Christmas pudding, brandy custard. Also one glass of House white, red or sparkling wine, middy tap beer/cider, Soft drink/ Tea or Coffee. An alternative will be made available for those unable to eat food off this menu, but we must be advised well in advance.

There is a minimum of 25 people required, so please advise Hugh Bevan by email ASAP if you are attending, and send your payment to Eluned Bevan. You are welcome to bring your family and friends. We must have final figures and payment by Thursday, 11 July. Any cancellations after that date must be paid for.
