DISCONTINUATION OF MONTHLY MEETINGS

General News

At our General meeting held on 17th May 2017, it was unanimously agreed, that due to the falling number of people attending the monthly meetings, and a shortage of officials to run the Society, that The Welsh Society of WA  discontinue to meet on a monthly basis, and instead meet about 4 times a year at different venues and locations. It was also agreed to hold an AGM next year, or at subsequent meetings, to consider the future of the Society. The Society will subsidise the cost of the organised events for paid-up members and life members.  Although this signals the end of the Society as we know it, the general feeling of those present was that this was a positive move to address our current needs as it offers numerous possibilities: no night time travelling as events can now be held during the day, weekend activities to include extended family, a variety of venues and location to suit all members.

Newsletters will be distributed to advise members of forthcoming events and will continue to be posted on our website.

People interested in joining The Welsh Society or attending the events are encouraged to contact the President, Hugh Bevan at hebevan@aapt.net.au or the Secretary, Bryce Henley at olwenhenley@bigpond.com
