This is just a reminder that we will be holding the AGM during tomorrow night’s Society meeting (15 April). It is important that we have a minimum of 15 members in attendance in order to form a quorum, otherwise it will have to be held in our May meeting. If you are unable to attend, you may use a proxy vote, by asking a member who will be in attendance to vote on your behalf.
We will also be reading the winning entries in the Poetry and Short Story competitions. So come along and support the Welsh Society at this important meeting.
A reminder also to the Welsh Class members – bring your “Welsh Talk” with you!!
Hwyl/ Regards
Lun
I have received an email from someone living in the country who has heard there is or was a Welsh event in Kings Park on 31 January. She has no other information but would like to know more. If anyone knows anything can you please let us know by adding a comment below.
Thanks, John
I am sorry to be the bearer of sad news but Diana passed away January 15th. I mentioned in the last newsletter that she had stopped receiving treatment for cancer and when I visited her in early December she told me that she was “Ready to go.” This did not really surprise me because Diana always maintained a philosophical outlook on life. She certainly packed a great deal into the 77 years she was with us and was a valuable contributor to the Welsh Society over many years. Diana’s funeral service will be held next Friday, January 23rd at 10.30 am at Grace Church, 109 Grand Boulevard, Joondalup. (On the corner of Shenton Avenue and Grand Boulevard.)
Fondest regards,
Eluned
