IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHANGE OF VENUE AND MEETING
OUR MEETINGS WILL TAKE PLACE AT
THE PERTH AND TATTERSALLS BOWLING CLUB, Plain Street, Perth.
ON THE THIRD MONDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 7.30pm
How to get there:
Access to the Perth and Tattersalls Club is from Plain St. Approximately 150 metres from the Riverside Drive Junction and almost opposite Terrace Rd. If you go into the Paid Parking area nearer Adelaide Tce., you will need to come back on Plain St and take the first turn left - this is an unsealed road and will take you to free parking by the club. Notes of special General Meeting held on 12th August (see Read More below) explain why this decision was taken. All members were advised of this meeting, either by email or post, by the Secretary.
Meeting Dates and Programs: 2nd Monday of each month.
9th September Poetry Night (bring your favourite poem, does not have to be Welsh)
14th October Guest Speaker- Mel Davies will speak on "Corsets and Conception- Fashion and demographic change in the 19th Century”.
11th November Bring and Buy
9th December Christmas Party, Carol Singing. Please bring a gift for another member (value limit $5) and mark "f" or "m". Please bring a gift for our annual Christmas Hamper for the underprivileged.
Welsh Society Competitions:
It's that time of year again, time to start preparing your entries for the following Welsh Society competitions.
Entries for the Short Story and Poetry, competitions may be in Welsh or English, and must have some relevance to Wales. The entries must be original work, and the entrant will retain copyright.
The entries for the Short Story, Poetry and Limerick competitions are to be handed to Hugh Bevan at or before the December function of the Welsh Society on Monday 9/12/2013, late entries will be accepted up to 31/1/2014 by sending to 5 Redfern Close, Hillarys, WA 6025, or e-mail. Please do not send entries before 8th October as I shall be away until then and I don't want any to get lost.
Judging will be carried out by an independent person who may, or may not, be a member of the Welsh Society.
Entrants should use a Pen Name on their work for judging purposes. The winners will be announced, and the shields presented, at the St. David's Day Dinner l." March 2014.

Complete the following limerick by adding the fifth line. The last line should contain 8 syllables, and the last word must rhyme with "Dwyer” and "fire". You may enter as many times as you like.
